The United States has welcomed about 7.2 million naturalized citizens in the past decade. According to an article in The Washington Post, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services naturalized 756,800 people in fiscal 2018.

Before enjoying their rights and privileges as U.S. citizens, immigrants take a 10-question test — they are required to answer six correctly to pass. A 2018 survey found that only 1 in 3 Americans would pass the test.
